Wings

Wings by Aprilynne Pike is about a girl called Laurel who is a changeling. She has strange eating habits (she only eats fruit and vegetables), she doesn't feel the cold and she hates being indoors.
When she discovers a lump on her back she doesn't know what it could be, at first she thinks it's her first spot but as it grows larger and doesn't fade, she begins to worry. She finally tells her new friend David when the lump turns into a flower. David agrees to do some experiments with his microscope and they discover some extremally unexpected results.
I really enjoyed this book and it gave a very different outlook on the typical faerie novel. This book is full of twists and turns and the plot is somewhat ...not what you'd expect.
Wings is the first in a four part series.
