The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green was, I found, rather underwhelming. I was expecting a book that was going to utterly destroy me, tear out my heart and then shove it back in again, but it didn't. It was a good story, it had good characters and storyline, but it didn't make me cry and scream.
I think if I haven't read about it, read all the amazing reviews about it, I might have enjoyed it more, instead of waiting for the bit where it finally became amazing.
However, I can't fault it: the characters were identifiable (sort of); the sadness was interjected with humour; it has a good plot; it just wasn't enough.
