The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke is about a pirate called Ananna who is betrothed to another pirate. But she doesn't want to marry him, so when he is buying her a necklace, she nicks a camel and is off.
When the shunned family send an assassin after Ananna, things start to get interesting....
She has to accept help from a beautiful person (she has never trusted beautiful people) and her hunch proves correct as the witch doesn't help her! In fact she makes everything worse. The magic Ananna is given by the witch triggers a curse that binds her to the assassin and they set off together to try and break the 'inpossible' curse.
I really liked this book, it has everything: adventure, action, budding romance and a coll assassin!
The second one, The Pirate's Wish is coming out next year.
