The Hunt

The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda is about a world which is inhabited by vampires who have hunted humans almost to extinction, there are only a few left and they are either in captivity or are hidden among society, masquerading as vampires. When the Ruler announces another Hunt and that candidates will be selected by a lottery process Gene pretends to be excited when really he pities the humans involved. He is devastated to be chosen and when he abruptly taken to a training centre and research facility, he almost slips up dozens of times and is nearly discovered and devoured. What incurs is a race against humanity and vampires. A great read well worthy of attention, I really enjoyed this book but some of the ideology is a little weird!
