The Chrysalids by John Whyndam is set in the future where any deviations from "the norm" is either burnt or exiled to the Fringes. David looks normal and acts normal, but he and a group of friends have a secret: they can communicate with each other in their heads with "thought pictures". They have tried to conceal this deviation for most of their lives, but when David's sister, Petra, is born everything changes. This book is great, it is really thought-provoking and interesting. For those of you who only read 'new' books, don't be put off by the fact that this book is old, it is better than a lot of modern sci-fi out there!
A blog in which I will tell you about good books that I have read and recomend them.
